Membership:

Entry Criteria:

Each artist may submit two original works, not previously exhibited in any LAA show, in any media, including photography and digital art. Work must be the artist’s original design and LAA requires all entrants maintain ethical Use and Copyright Compliance.

Two-Dimensional Works:

  • All pieces must be securely wired and braced for hanging

  • No clips or “fast frames” will be accepted

  • No wet, fragile, or ill-prepared work will be accepted

  • Unframed canvases cannot have staples showing and edges must be finished (clean, painted)

PHOTOGRAPHY CRITERIA

  • PRINTED IMAGE SIZE can be no smaller than 80 sq. in. (for example: 8" x 10" print) and no larger than 384 sq. in. (for example: 16” x 24” print). Print can be any dimension as long as it is between 80 sq. in. and 384 sq. in area. Printed image size does not include mat and frame. Final framing size is up to you, but please don’t go overboard. We have limited space.

  • PAPER PRINTS ONLY. Mat, metal or wood frame, glass or Plexiglass, wired for hanging. No plastic, clip, poster, Gatorboard, or similar frame will be allowed or accepted.

  • Mats must be at least 4-ply thick. Color is allowed in the mat.

  • Minimum 2" wide mat on all sides is recommended and no more than 6”.

  • Frame design is your choice.

  • NO canvas, metal, acrylic prints.

  • Images will be disqualified if requirements are not met. Damaged frames, cracked or broken glass or poorly cut mats, colored mats, incorrect image area, not wired for hanging, etc. will not be shown unless corrected and resubmitted before the public opening.

  • IMPORTANT: On back of the framed image, place your name, title of work, and category in lower right corner.

Size Criteria:

• Width 42” Maximum, including frame

• Height 60” Maximum, including frame

Three-Dimensional Works:

• All works must be free-standing or for display on pedestals, or wall-mounted

• Work must fit through standard doorways

• Fragile work should be placed under plexi covers

• No installations

• Artists must provide pedestals where applicable

• Height and Weight Limits are flexible depending on venue. Please read the current prospectus for guidelines. Also, please contact us if your piece is over 200 lbs.

Liability:

All reasonable care and security measures will be taken in handling and displaying of works

PLEASE NOTE: LAA does not offer insurance coverage at our venues. While each venue offers some (and different) protection, the LAA board suggests that each artist, if concerned, obtain coverage for his or her art through individual homeowners’ insurance.

• Work must be the artist’s original design and LAA requires all entrants maintain ethical Use and Copyright Compliance.

• Work must have been produced within the last 3 years.

• You may not enter work that has been produced under supervision in a class or workshop.

• Your entry acknowledges permission to have your work photographed or videoed for promotional use.

• All accepted work must remain for the duration of the show.

• Please observe professional behavior and decorum at all times.

The exhibition committee reserves the right to reject any work not following the above professional standards.

LAA reserves the right to refuse exhibition of artwork deemed unsuitable according to LAA’s policies as a community-driven non-profit organization.
